Indie distributor Well Go USA Leisure has picked up multi-territory rights to Korean horror-thriller The Witch 2: The Different One, the sequel to The Witch: Subversion, which grossed just below $25 million in South Korea in 2018.
Properly Go has taken theatrical and digital rights for North America, the U.Ok., Australia and New Zealand. The corporate will launch the movie in theaters in North America on June 17.
Directed by Park Hoon-jung (New World, The Witch: Subversion), The Witch 2 stars newcomer Si-ah as a mysterious lady who emerges as the only survivor of a bloody raid on the top-secret analysis facility behind the clandestine Witch Program. She is shortly rescued by a pair who understands the extent of risk the lady now faces. Nevertheless, because the assassins tasked with finding and silencing the lady transfer nearer, the lives of all three are in grave hazard.
The movie co-stars Park Eun-bin (Range League, Do You Like Brahms?), Search engine marketing Eun-soo (My Golden Life, King Maker), Jin Gu (Mom, Descendants of the Solar), Sung Yoo-bin (The Battle: Highway to Victory, Maybe Love), with Cho Min-su, Lee Jong-seok and Kim Da-mi (the protagonist and “unique witch” from The Witch: Subversion) in supporting roles.
