SINGAPORE: Former United States president Donald Trump introduced on Thursday (Dec 15) his very personal “uncommon digital collectible” buying and selling playing cards, depicting himself in several costumes together with a superhero, astronaut and a cowboy.
Priced at US$99, the non-fungible token (NFT) buying and selling playing cards are being marketed as the “perfect Christmas gift” by Mr Trump.
A promotional video exhibits an animated model of Mr Trump wearing Superman-styled garb with lasers popping out of his eyes in opposition to the backdrop of Trump Tower.
One of many playing cards present the 76-year-old rippling with muscle whereas sporting the American flag as his cape and a “Trump Champion” belt.
The previous host of The Apprentice had teased a “main announcement” earlier than the launch of the playing cards, including to the hype over his declaration earlier this month that he can be operating for the 2024 US presidential election.
Nonetheless, the response has been largely damaging, with many ridiculing the collection.
Award-winning creator Stephen King spoke up about Mr Trump’s newest transfer, evaluating him to different former presidents and their work after leaving the White Home.
